Café1901 is an independent cafe/coffee house serving the ‘perfect blend’ of seriously good coffee and fabulous food whilst set within truly unique vintage surroundings.

The ‘blend is also complemented by our gift shop which sells a bespoke range of handmade and often locally sourced produce and products from artisan chocolates and chutneys to handbags and jewellery.

All the furniture, art and artefacts within the cafe are also for sale, ensuring that Café1901 really does have the ’perfect blend’. In fact the only item currently missing as the perfect accompaniment to our cafe is...You!

Artisan ‘Award Winning’ Coffee

Our house coffee blend is directly sourced from the finest 2-3% of coffee beans in the world and is expertly roasted by the award winning* team at Artisan Roast of Edinburgh. The beans are ground to order by ourselves to ensure that only the very best and freshest coffee touches your lips.  As we are a pretty humble bunch at Cafe1901, we don’t like to shout about it too much, but we really do think our coffee is the best in Newcastle.  Taste and see for yourself.  It is worth noting that our growers receive around 20% more for their crop than Fairtrade.
